CCMT2026 Exhibition: How to Find a Cost-Effective Gear Hobbing Machine?

In April, the atmosphere at Shanghai New International Expo Centre was full of energy and excitement. As Asia's largest and most influential machine tool exhibition, the 14th China CNC Machine Tool Fair (CCMT2026), themed “Digital ~Connectivity ~Intelligent Manufacturing,” gathered over 2,000 leading global companies on the same stage.

As a newcomer attending this major industry event, I not only felt the strong momentum of the machine tool industry moving toward high-end and intelligent manufacturing, but also gained fresh insights into the current market situation and future trends of gear processing equipment through in-depth conversations with customers from different countries.

At the exhibition, major suppliers showcased their flagship technologies and solutions. Among the busy crowd, I met a professional distributor from Vietnam. His goal was very clear: to source a highly cost-effective gear hobbing machine in China for his end customer.

The customer came well-prepared and asked highly technical and detailed questions. He carefully investigated our company background, including establishment history, factory size, annual production capacity, and manufacturing location.

During technical discussions, he demonstrated strong expertise in gear manufacturing equipment. He asked about our machine model range, machining module capacity, as well as the maximum and minimum workpiece diameter and height limits.

He also focused on the differences between vertical and horizontal ‍‍gear hobbing machines‍‍  for different applications. Horizontal gear hobbing machines are generally more suitable for precision small parts such as watch gears and small-module planetary gears, while vertical gear hobbing machines perform better in machining medium and large gears, especially for new energy vehicle applications.

In addition, he raised more technical questions, including CNC control system brands, dry cutting capability for greener production, accuracy compensation algorithms under high-speed operation, sprocket machining capability, machine axis configuration, and whether the machine adopts direct drive technology.

To help him find the most suitable solution, I also guided him to visit our gear grinding machine and chamfering machine areas. At CCMT2026, it was clear that with the rapid growth of humanoid robots and new energy vehicles, demand for efficient and high precision gear manufacturing equipment is increasing significantly.

The customer carefully compared different equipment options, and we exchanged contact information on site. We agreed to continue discussions after the exhibition and provide him with a complete machine purchasing solution.

One impressive aspect of the exhibition was the live machine demonstrations. Watching a gear hobbing machine operate smoothly and precisely on the exhibition floor makes technical specifications far more tangible.

Visitors can directly observe machine rigidity, noise control, automation level, and operating stability. This "seeing is believing" experience significantly shortens the trust-building process between suppliers and customers.

The value of exhibitions is not limited to product displays; they are also important opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and develop new business.

During the exhibition, I also met several long-term customers invited by our sales team. We had dinner together in a relaxed atmosphere and discussed both previous cooperation and future purchasing plans.

One loyal customer even brought a newly hired colleague to learn from the experience. This level of trust and support was deeply encouraging.

CCMT2026 is not only a technology showcase, but also a bridge connecting the global manufacturing industry.
